Louis Rosemond

When painting his jungle scenes, Rosemond says he imagines the paradise that Haiti was when he was a child. His work has been shown at numerous international exhibitions in Venezuela, Australia, Puerto Rico, Curacao, throughout the United States and his native country Haiti. Over his career, Rosemond has taught art to people of all ages, from children to college students, adults, and professionals. Moreover, his work has been featured in many news outlets (I.e. newspapers, radio, and TV stations), including definitive work on Haitian Arts, "Les Naives Haitiennes," and in the historical work "Voodoo Kingdom to Modern Riviera" by John Allen Franciscus.

Local Artist

Lauderdale Lakes, Florida

Born in Gros-Morne, Haiti, in 1959, Altidor began painting at just seven years old. He draws deep inspiration from the landscape, people, and architecture of his cultural roots.

He works confidently across multiple media, including pen and ink, watercolor, acrylics, and more. However, Altidor’s true passion is oil painting. His favorite subjects include the beauty of the female form, expressive portraits, vibrant florals, serene landscapes, dynamic seascapes, and detailed still life compositions.

Altidor’s work is featured in both public and private collections across the United States, Germany, and the Caribbean, including Jamaica, The Bahamas, and Haiti. He currently lives and works in South Florida, where he paints and teaches from his home studio. He also maintains a studio at the Lauderhill Arts Center (L.A.C.).

Altidor’s work reflects the richness of his heritage and the depth of his artistic vision.

International Artist

Martissant, Port-au-Prince, Haiti

Praslin Paul was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  He devoted his passion to painting at the age of 21 years old and attended the National School of Art in Haiti for formal training. Paul's artwork is an array of beautiful tropical scenic views of people, street life influenced by nature, and occasionally self-portraits.

I spent 23 years teaching drawing and painting classes in Haiti.  Participated in several exhibitions

in Haiti for example ENARTS in Port Au Prince. When painting I find myself immersed in the culture

of my country, and also I feel like I'm in another world. My dream has always been to become a great international painter.

(Mentor II)

Marc-Arthur Mentor, known as Mentor II, was born in 1963 in Verrettes, Haiti. Inspired by his father, the painter Louinès Mentor, and the works of Leonardo da Vinci, he developed a passion for art at an early age and created his first painting at the age of eight. Drawing inspiration from the natural landscapes and daily life of Haiti’s Artibonite region, Mentor II began his professional career as a teenager when Nader Gallery purchased three of his paintings and later commissioned him to create thirty-six additional works. During this period, renowned Haitian artist and critic Dieudonné Cédor prepared his first official artist biography. After exploring papier-mâché and calligraphy between 1983 and 1986, Mentor II returned to painting with an evolving style that transitioned from traditional Haitian naïve art to impressionist and modern influences.

Throughout the 1990s, he exhibited widely across Haiti. In 2000, his painting La Liberté de la Presse (Freedom of the Press), inspired by journalist Jean Léopold Dominique, was exhibited at the National Pantheon Museum of Haiti (MUPANAH). From 2000 to 2002, he taught painting at Collège Catts Pressoir in Port-au Prince. In 2003, Mentor II relocated to France with his family, where he continued exhibiting his work in galleries throughout France and Belgium. Through his art, he seeks to share the beauty of Haitian landscapes and inspire viewers with the same appreciation for nature and everyday life that has guided his artistic journey.
